This is a remarkable love story of a young Canadian woman who follows her Savior across the world, all the way to India. Her decision was not without cost. She had to give up the love of a handsome, young Royal Canadian airman.
For thirty-six years, Lillian Doerksen worked at the Pandita Ramabai Mukti Mission. She was able to raise her own Honeysuckle Family of thirty-four Indian girls-one of many rewarding ministries that she helped to develop in that country of over 900 million people. The principle religion in India, Hinduism, worships 300 million different gods.
Just when it was time for her to retire, Lillian received a second call from God, this time to start working among the deaf in India. Today she is helping many of the 900,000 deaf people in her part of India. Some have likened Lillian's level of compassion to that of Mother Theresa, due to her compassion for the poor and downtrodden of India.
This is an inspiring story of obedience and faith in spite of overwhelming odds. Throughout her life, and because of her love for the people of that great country, Lillian Doerksen has truly been a light to India.
